What is the Best Island in Europe for digital nomad business remote workers?

Santorini-Greece

From Italy to France and from the UK to Germany, Switzerland, Spain, and more, Europe is one of the most fun and vibrant continents. No matter what kind of lifestyle you are looking forward to, you can live your dream life in Europe.

Great infrastructure, seamless connectivity, conducive atmosphere, lots of opportunities to learn, stunning sceneries, and lovely people – Europe has everything that would appease digital nomads.

If you are a remote worker and looking to set up your digital nomadic base in Europe, the islands are the best bet.

Why? Well, they are picturesque. And offer a lot of fun activities for you to indulge in after work hours.

But again, Europe has not one or two but plenty of islands. All lovely, equally inviting, and wonderful in their own ways. So how do you decide where to go and which island to skip for now?

To save you from having to select one and reject some, here’s my personal recommendation for the best island in Europe for digital nomad business remote workers.

Santorini, Greece.

Several countries are offering digital nomad visas today. Greece is one of them. So getting to Santorini island in Greece would be a cakewalk.

The island is located 200km southeast of the Greek mainland in the Aegean Sea. And here are five reasons why I love Santorini and also why it is the best place for digital nomads:

  • The 2011 census revealed a population of 15,550. So if you are looking for a close-knit community and not too many people everywhere, it is the place to be.
  • Santorini has been named the best island in the world by several magazines like Leisure+Travel, BBC, and even the US News. There is a global consensus on Santorini being just the best.
  • The island has a semi-arid climate with Mediterranean characteristics. That means it is not too hot or too cold. Perfect for all types of weather lovers.
  • The island is home to flourishing wine industry. You know what you’d be doing after you log out of work for the day.
  • The city of Santorini has blue domes, whitewashed walls, and a stunning view of the ocean. All that makes for a perfectly pleasing environment to stay in.

And yes, don’t worry, Santorini is safe, with good transportation and communication facilities. So your work won’t be hampered. Though it might be a little expensive for some, it is surely worth spending a couple of months in. You won’t regret spending the money you do.
