Is Rhodes Island the Perfect Island for a Digital Nomads in Month of October?
As a digital entrepreneur, I’ve traveled the world in search of the perfect balance between productivity and relaxation.
This October, I found that balance on the Greek island of Rhodes. For anyone seeking a mix of warm sunshine, beautiful beaches, and solid internet to maintain their remote work routine, Rhodes is an absolute gem. What makes it even better is the value for money you get in this off-peak month, as the island begins to wind down before winter sets in.
I’ve had the chance to stay in a few great spots here, each offering something unique for a nomadic lifestyle.
My Stays Across Rhodes
Currently, I’m writing from the Kresten Palace Hotel, which has been an ideal base. It’s right by the beach, giving me the perfect spot to unwind after a day of work. The rooms are comfortable, the Wi-Fi is solid, and it’s quiet enough for deep work sessions in the mornings. Plus, the beach is just steps away, so I can quickly transition from work mode to chill mode with a quick swim in the sea.
But it’s not just about the Kresten Palace. The night before, I stayed at the Pegasus Deluxe Hotel—and wow! What a place! Two enormous outdoor pools, a gym by the beach (yes, you read that right), and a view that makes your early morning workout feel like a treat. There’s nothing quite like hitting the gym with the Aegean Sea as your backdrop and then diving into a pool right afterward.
Before that, I was at the Paradise Garden Apartments, which has been a hidden gem for a digital nomad. The apartments are modern, spacious, and well-equipped, with super-fast internet—something you don’t always get in beachside locales. If you’re someone who needs reliable internet and a quiet, comfortable place to work, this spot is a must. Plus, the apartments are close enough to the action, but not too close to the hustle and bustle.
The only place that wasn’t a hit for me was Cook’s Club. While it had a lot going for it, being close to the airport made it a little too noisy for my liking. But hey, you win some, you lose some. The important thing is that Rhodes, as a whole, has way more wins.
A Digital Nomad’s Ideal Routine
What I’ve loved the most about being here in Rhodes is how easy it is to create the perfect work-life balance. I like to start my day with some yoga on the beach—nothing beats stretching out with the sound of the waves and the warm sun on your skin. Afterward, I dive into my work, which usually flows pretty smoothly when I’m in a place this inspiring. Once I’ve knocked out my main tasks for the day, I reward myself with a swim in the crystal-clear waters.
It’s not just about the hotels and beaches, though. Rhodes has this vibe that’s hard to explain—relaxed but energetic, touristy but local at the same time. And in October, you avoid the summer crowds while still getting those summer vibes.
Why October in Rhodes is a Winner
What makes Rhodes especially appealing in October is that it’s right before the island’s main luxury hotels start closing for the season. You can enjoy all the perks—great weather, lower prices, and access to the best spots—without the high-season rush. The weather is perfect: sunny skies, warm temperatures, and a gentle breeze that makes working outdoors by the pool or beach a joy.
The island offers an ideal blend of work and leisure for digital nomads. Whether it’s an afternoon of diving into a new project or diving into the sea, Rhodes has been the perfect place to settle down for a productive yet relaxing time.
So, if you’re considering a place to soak up the last rays of European sun while still getting your work done, Rhodes should be high on your list.
